Brain Donation Awareness Growing

Good response from public following BBC publicity on shortage of brain tissue for research.

Following recent publicity on BBC News at Ten and on the BBC website about the need for so-called "control" tissue for research into dementia, the brain bank at King's College London Institute of Psychiatry has fielded over 100 enquiries from people interested in becoming donors.

The KCL IoP brain bank is one of five centres in the first network of British brain banks that constitutes Brains for Dementia Research. The others are in Cardiff, Manchester, Newcastle and Oxford.
