Leading British Brain Bank joins Dementia Network
The South West Dementia Brain Bank at Bristol University is the latest recruit to the network of tissue banks created by Brains for Dementia Research. It is part of the Dementia Research Group at Frenchay Hospital and is directed by Professor Seth Love and managed by Dr Patrick Kehoe.
The bank opened to donations in the mid 1980s and holds tissue from nearly 800 donors.
The addition of Bristol to our project will help significantly in recruiting and assessing participants who live in the southwest of England. The SWDBB works closely with South West DeNDRoN - the Dementias and Neurodegenerative Diseases Research Network, which supports clinical research in Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire.
