Banking brains for dementia article in Alzheimer's Society magazine leads to several hundred requests for information about donating brains for research
The April 2009 edition of the Alzheimer's Society magazine Living with dementia featured an article "Banking brains for dementia"
which described the importance of obtaining post-mortem brain tissue for research, both from people with dementia and from healthy people for control purposes.
Following publication, the Brains for Dementia Research coordinating centre has fielded several hundred enquiries from people interested in finding out more about this new project.
