Brains for dementia research

To date, we have recruited about 850 participants across the 5 centres, with about 65% of those being normal healthy controls. This is excellent news as previously there was very little brain tissue from people without a diagnosis of dementia for comparison in research.

 

We are working with the NHS and hope to increase the area we can reach to carry out the assessment interviews. These things take time to arrange and put in place, but we can now carry out assessments on potential participants in Lincolnshire, and hope to expand further over the next year.
