In response to government advice, employees at brain banks in the Brains for Dementia Research network have moved to remote working.

Due to the current situation, we are unlikely to be able to accept tissue donations at this time. We rely on the help and goodwill of NHS hospitals to collect tissue for us, and in the current situation they may not have the capacity to carry out donations.

Please do let us know if a registered donor passes away during this period, as this will enable us to update our records and ensure we do not call you inappropriately in the future.

Our study nurses will continue to keep in touch by telephone wherever possible, and will conduct scheduled study visits over the phone. We continue to safeguard tissue already donated, using remote monitoring systems.

We are able to provide access to longitudinal cohort data. To apply or enquire about data access, please visit the application page.

We are unable to prepare or dispatch tissue samples requested by researchers, although we can process applications we receive.

Thank you for your understanding, and we wish you well.

Everyone at Brains for Dementia Research.
